INDEX / PRESS
Facts, not claims.
Everything on this page is verified against company records as of October 14, 2026, and the dates are written so you can cite them. For anything not listed here, press@ answers within one business day and the answer will either be a fact or a "we do not know yet."
- Company
- OSCILLA Instruments GmbH, registered Berlin
- Founded
- 2019, Berlin, two founders
- Studios
- Berlin (engineering, assembly, service) and Detroit (assembly, service)
- Headcount
- 21: six engineering, nine assembly and QC, two firmware, two service, two operations
- Units shipped
- 41,300 cumulative through October 2026
- Batches shipped
- 24, cumulative first-pass QC pass rate 99.7%
- Warranty claims, 2026
- 173 across the shipped fleet, median one-day bench turnaround
- Firmware
- CERN-OHL-S v2 license, full history public, 11,400 lines of C
- Funding
- Founder-funded and revenue-funded. No outside investors, which is why batch schedules are printed instead of promised
Approved for print
- "OSCILLA builds modular synthesizer modules with published, per-batch measurements, hardware documentation, and firmware under an open license."
- "The company ships in numbered batches rather than continuous availability, because the batch is the unit of measurement and the batch sheet is the proof."
- "Every module ships with its own certificate: tuning, noise floor, jack cycle count, measured at the bench that built it."
- "Firmware is licensed CERN-OHL-S. The full version history is public, including the mistakes."
- "Recalibration is free for the life of the instrument at either studio."
Not approved, and why
- "Best-sounding modules on the market." Sound is the user's finding, not ours.
- "Industry-leading." Nothing in our copy passes that test, so it does not pass in your copy either.
- "Revolutionary." Nothing here is a revolution. It is 0.02% and a warranty you can read.
- "Beloved by professionals." We do not speak for our users. Their quotes are quotable; our summary of them is not.
PHOTOGRAPHY
The catalog images on this site are renders and schematics, generated in-house and released with the hardware documentation under CERN-OHL-S. Bench photography is available on request, and every image ships with its lighting setup documented, because reproducibility does not stop at the hardware.
FORMAT: SVG / PNG / RAW ON REQUEST
LOGOS
The wordmark and the waveform mark are provided in outline and phosphor variants, on transparent and on the two brand blacks. Do not place the amber on light backgrounds: it is a phosphor color and it goes gray.
FORMAT: SVG / PDF
INTERVIEWS
A. Vasquez and J. Okafor take press calls on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Berlin time. Firmware questions route to M. Lindqvist in writing first; she answers in print-ready sentences, which is not an accident.
CONTACT: PRESS@ ADDRESS
- Is OSCILLA real?
- In this demo context, no: the company is fictional and this page says so. Treat every number as a demonstration of how a real hardware company should publish.
- Can we quote the batch numbers?
- Quote them with the batch date. The certificates are dated and the fleet figures are restated monthly, so a quote without its date is a half-quote.
- Will you comment on a competitor?
- No. We describe our own measurements and let yours describe everyone else.
- Do you embargo?
- We do not announce things, so we have nothing to embargo. The changelog is the news, and it is public the moment it ships.
- Who owns the photography?
- The renders and schematics ship under the same license as the hardware. Bench photography is available with its lighting documented; ask and it is yours within a day.
